Overview.

 

Lean Foundation course covers the skills required to be an effective team member and contributor to a Lean improvement project. Participants will learn how to apply the basic Lean principles, methods and tools through an integrated simulation.

This program provides a critical element of Lean process improvements: grassroots know-how and support to achieving operational excellence and process control.

No prior qualifications or experience is expected. This course has a practical and applied focus. After completing this course, participants will constantly recognise opportunities for continuous improvement in their workplace.

Anyone in any industry who wants to learn the basic concepts for applying the Lean toolkit.


Learning Objectives.

 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the origins of Lean.

  • Identify the five principles of Lean and the eight types of waste.

  • Participate as an active team member in a Lean Action Workout.

  • Apply new skills and basic tools to effectively support workplace improvement projects.

PDU Credits.

7 PDUs ^

If you hold PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification, you are required to earn 60 PDUs in a 3-year cycle.
